why do people always pull hip-hop and rap as a misogynist area of music? yes, many rappers are misogynistic, but it’s not the only genre. let’s talk about country music, about the preacher’s daughter trope, the cutoff jeans, the get-her-drunk mentality; let’s talk about pop music, about the drugs and the clubs and the possessive “love songs”; let’s talk about alternative music, about “she’s not like other girls” and the manic pixie dream girl; let’s talk about classical music, about the exclusion of women now and in history.

let’s talk about how everyone’s first reaction is to villainize a primarily black genre before criticizing literally anyone else.

so today is the day of the incomparable CHARLIE WEASLEY what a boy. it’s a huge shame we never saw him in the films, and out of all the weasley kids we probably see him the least in the books but that doesn’t make him any less awesome. here’s what we got:

 - i feel like we learn everything we need to know about charlie in PS. his baby brother writes to him in his first year at hogwarts like what’s up charlie can you smuggle an illegal dragon out of a highly protected castle for me and charlie’s just like sure, no problem. hope your studies are going well. i’ll sort the dragon. love charlie.

- what. not only does charlie not tell the ministry, the school, their parents or their other siblings (or at least, not percy fred or george - I feel like he might have told bill. later. much later), which ron trusts him not to do without a second thought, but he also flawlessly plans and executes having his friends smuggle a dragon out of hogwarts because his brother asked him to. you can’t tell me that isn’t a pretty tricky business. no brother will ever be this cool.

- he is a quidditch LEGEND. this kid could have played for ENGLAND if he wanted to. judging by the only professional match we see in the books, that must mean he can play to a pretty fierce standard (although granted we know england are not as good as ireland or bulgaria. but maybe they would have been if they had charlie weasley).

- why doesn’t he play for england? literally every wizard kid’s dream? because he LOVES DRAGONS. he loves them that much. when we actually meet him he’s got burn scars from these fiery shits. is he bothered? of course not.

- at the world cup he is super into the quidditch but not so much that he can’t pull back and reassure ginny when she’s worried about the players. and then everything goes sideways and he is right there with his bros, sleeves rolled up, ready to destroy some muggle haters.

- he’s trusted by dumbledore to represent the order and its interests internationally. we don’t hear of anyone else doing this and it involves some serious trust - that’s dumbledore trusting charlie to vet wizards in another country and bring them into the order on his own judgement. but he still drops everything when he hears about the battle at hogwarts and comes all the way from ROMANIA to join the battle and still makes it in time to kill death eaters.

(also hogwarts mystery charlie is a treat. that’s all i can think of to describe him)

josepheiv asked: top 10 fics every dramione fan should read?

Answer:

dramioneasks:

Hi! There are definitely more than 10 that should be on this list but here are the first ones that came to mind that, I think, are absolutely worth every dramione fan’s time:

The Fallout by everythursday - MA, 49 Chapters - Hermione learns about growing up through the redemption of Draco Malfoy.

Isolation By: Bex-chan - M, 48 Chapters - He can’t leave the room. Her room. And it’s all the Order’s fault. Confined to a small space with only the Mudblood for company, something’s going to give. Maybe his sanity. Maybe not. “There,” she spat. “Now your Blood’s filthy too!” DM/HG. PostHBP.

The Flatmate By: attica - T, 5 Chapters - After the Ministry seizes all of Draco Malfoy’s possessions - including his beloved Malfoy Manor - he takes up drinking and finds himself taking up temporary residence at Hermione Granger’s flat in Wizarding London. But what neither of them expect is that a lot can happen in 139 days in such close quarters - even the impossible. DHr. COMPLETE!

The Rest of Their Lives By: smuggled-muggle - M, 15 chapters - [Complete] Voldemort’s defeated and now they’ve got the future to look forward to. Hermione’s happily ever after doesn’t happen as she had planned, and Draco refuses to live the life planned for him.

A Wonderful Caricature of Intimacy By: Countess of Abe - M, 25 Chapters - Draco loves his son more than anything in the world. So, when his ex-wife plans to take his son away, Draco asks the most unlikely person for help. Hermione must decide whether changing her entire life is worth helping the man she hates unconditionally.

Gravity By: luckei1 - T, 10 Chapters - It’s about arranging stacks of books, wall colours, and jumping off a cliff. Draco/Hermione

The Green Girl By: Colubrina - T, 22 Chapters - Hermione is sorted into Slytherin; how will things play out differently when the brains of the Golden Trio has different friends? AU. Darkish Dramione. COMPLETE.

Diary of an Illicit Affair By: LoveBugOC - M, 11 Chapters - Chapters of an affair, through the eyes of two lovers: an unfaithful husband and his mistress. Rated for Mature subject matter. Eleven-part series. Dramione.

Clean By: olivieblake - M, 31 Chapters - Malfoy’s handsome face was contoured into a condescending smirk. “No faith in that giant brain of yours, Granger?” She looked up at him defiantly. “Maybe I don’t have faith in you!” she said, raising her voice. Malfoy only looked at her. “You’ll find I’m very surprising.” Dramione AU, Year 6 with a slow burn and a killer twist. COMPLETE.

A Fruitless Year by everythursday - MA, 3 Chapters - Sometimes the simplest of storms can grow to nearly topple the mightiest of oaks, and the only choices left are to sever it by the roots, or let it grow towards the light.
